Will for Future
We use the word “will” to talk about actions and events that haven’t happened yet, but we expect or decide will happen.
β° When do we use “Will” for Future?
We use “will” for the future to:
- Make predictions (what we think will happen):
It will rain tomorrow.
I think she will like this gift.
- Talk about sudden decisions made at the moment of speaking:
“I’m thirsty.” “I will get you some water.”
“The phone is ringing.” “I will answer it.”
- Make promises or offers:
I will help you with your homework.
We will visit you soon.
- Express future facts:
The sun will rise at 6 AM tomorrow.
You will be 10 years old next year.

Using “will” is very simple! You just put “will” before the base form of the verb.
Question: Will + subject + base verb?
Affirmative: Subject + will + base verb
Negative: Subject + will + not + base verb

“Will not” can be shortened to “won’t”.
“Will” does not change for different subjects (I, you, he, she, it, we, they all use “will”).
Always use the base form of the verb after “will” (no -s, -ed, or -ing).
